The term "Kuda Sesat" was invented from the opening of Alekhine. This unique term was introduced to me by a strong chess player from Terengganu, Fairul Yusoff aka Emjee. It is one of the mysterious chess openings ever in modern chess. Not so many players prefer to play this opening.
The first move of 1...Nf6 seems a bit odd against 1..e4..White players end up to be clueless of what sort of game he/she is going to play as the black just play the waiting game.
Most white players will obviously chase the black knight with the e pawn. This is when the term "Kuda Sesat" comes in. Once the black knight is left freely on the field, the damage is bound to happen to the white. The knight seems a bit lost in the game but it is actually the secret of the Alekhine game.
I have known a few Alekhine players in Malaysia such as Emjee, and also Ilhamuddin. They are strong players to play against and it is not a coincidence that they play the same opening, Alekhine. It is believed that humans tend to make mistakes when bombarded with a lot of choices. So, this sort of free-style opening suits the soul of players who wanted to be free rather than having to stick to rules and regulations.
As for me, I am starting to learn more about this opening. And don't be surprised if you found that a chess player named Ruqaim topping a tournament. :)

The Rise of Terengganu Chess Prodigies
This month is a very exciting month for Terengganu chess players. For so long, we finally managed to see young chess players topping the chart of winner's list in a tournament.
In the latest tournament held in Unisza, saw the top three chart had been dominated by young Terengganu chess players.
1. Syazwan ( Many people might forget that he is still young despite his vast experience)
2. Arif Farae ( 15 years old)
3. Aiman Zakwan ( 17 years old)
I guess most of you knew about Syazwan already. My focus here is on Arief and Aiman. I believe that they will become the successors to the current Terengganu strong chess players. They didn't get such result with ease. With no disrespect to certain players, the two chess prodigies managed to beat several experienced players.
This is the new benchmark of Terengganu chess level. Those two players represent the future of Terengganu chess. My fellow friend, Fairul Yusoff said, "this is what I have been waiting for years." In so many years before, the winner's chart had been dominated by mostly the same people.
The future looks great for Terengganu chess. I personally hope that this will be the stepping stone for young chess players to succeed in years to come. Can't wait to see these chess prodigies emulating the same form in upcoming tournaments!

Brief Introduction...
A very warm welcome to this new blog. I guess many of you might wonder who am I aka the admin of this blog. Those who live in Terengganu might recognize me very well. I am a chess player from Terengganu which currently still studying in one of the IPTA's in Terengganu. I may not be a very strong player but I believe that every one of us has the right to convey what they think of the Malaysian chess field.
Why am I setting up this new blog? I felt very enjoyed every time I read all the existing chess blogs especially my fellow compatriot, Chess Odyssey but I realized that something was lacking. We are lacking the perspective of the younger chess players. I took the initiative in hoping that this blog will be the bridge that will connect the perspective of the younger and older generation of chess players.
I will try to do my best to put something new and fresh into this blog. Hope that all of you will enjoy reading my future entries. Cheers!
